I have really chapped lips does anyone have suggestions to try? I have used Berts bees chapsticks, aquaphor especially at night, and a shea butter mix. I put all of these things on at different times throughou the day but while it may get better for a few days it never goes away. What have you found that works?

It sounds like all the things you have tried should help. I have heard that if you use chapstick (just the regular ol' kind) it actually makes your lips stop producing moisture and become dependent upon the chapstick. Strange hun? I don't know how people don't use chapstick though! I really enjoy some stuff that my mom got me when I was pregnant to help with stretch marks. She bought me like 10 jars, so 3 years later I still have some!! It's in a white, round, plastic jar and it's called Cocoa Butter Dry Skin Cream with Vitamin E & Botanical Extracts. It's supposed to be for your body, but I put it EVERYWHERE...my feet, face, lips, etc. It has a subtle vanilla smell, which I personally like. I think my mom got it just at a Sally's store or something like that.

Drink more water, cracked lips if often an indication of dehydration. Burts Bees is the best so you are already using it. I have found a MEDICATED burts bees. It smells a lot stronger but seems to cure any problems. I used to use Carmex, that was the good ol stuff

I've heard the same stuff you use while breastfeeding helps for lips... Lanisoh. Safe to use even if lips are cracked or bleeding.

Another suggestion I found:
The nutritional characteristics of honey make it an amazing healing and anti-bacterial agent. Similarly, Vaseline is considered one of the best skin protectants. When these two items are combined, you have an effective home remedy for chapped lips:
-Put some honey on your lips let it dry for a few seconds. -Without moving your lips, apply some Vaseline on top of the lips. -Leave the honey and Vaseline on your lips for 10-15 minutes. -Finally, dip a Q-tip in hot water and use it to remove the honey and Vaseline in two strokes. -Do this once a day for about 2-5 days to get rid of chapped lips.

I forgot to add...found that tip on a website that has quite a few suggestions. And if you scroll down you can read comments from others. (They also gave a ton of tips.)

Maybe something on there will help you out. Good luck!

Great suggestions! I still have lansinoh from 3 years ago when I started bf I'll dig it out and try that. I'll have to try the honey and vaseline too. I think the petroleum qualities are the same in the aquaphor as the vaseline. I do drink a ton of water so you would think this wouldn't keep hapening. In fact I don't drink anything but water.

Good ideas here! I never thought to use my same stuff from bf.

I really like the satin lips from Mary Kay. There's a lip mask that you apply and leave on for 5 minutes or so, then you wash it off and put the lip balm on. It works great for me b/c the mask is like an exfoliator for your lips. I don't sell MK myself but know lots of people who do if you want to try it.

Abbey, I actually have satin lips and haven't used the lip mask in a while. I also put the nightcream on my lips too. I have some sort of lip treatment in every room, purse, bag etc. that I pull out a couple times an hours. LOL. so I'm using a hodge podge...
