Our cute little guy, how's now 19 months old, has picked up a bad habit at school. He's recently started throwing everything he can get his little chubby hads on! It's driving DH and I CRAZY because when we tell him in a firm voice not to throwing things and to put them down or roll them he just smiles (quite a cute smile) at us or out and out laughs!
What have y'all done to get your kids to listen on this one? So far we've addressed the issue mostly with firm verbal directions and our thought is "repetition, repetition, repetition," and we've tried one time-out but it's only been the second time he's every had time-out so I don't know how effective that is.

We try to use logical consequences so for throwing things we take the item away and it gets put away in the closet for a time. I will say "Oh how sad, if you're throwing this then you're not ready to play with it." and he watches me put it in the closet. Sometimes if he's in the midst of a fit along with throwing the item then he will need to sit in time out and calm down for a minute.
